Packaging line for The Bath House Ltd, a project in my packaging class at Millersville University. The original project was only for the “citrus gardens” variety, but for my portfolio I expanded to include two other fragrances - “strawberry patch” and “blackberry bush.” This design won the judge’s choice award for packaging at the MU Senior Design exhibition in Lancaster, PA

Photos taken at the Buffalo Zoological Park in Buffalo, NY. It was a perfectly overcast day which was lucky in three ways - it wasn’t too hot or too cold for the animals to be out and about, I didn’t get blown highlights and dark shadows caused by a super sunny day, and the Zoo was all but deserted, which meant I didn’t have to try and get through crowds to get a good shot at the more popular animals.

I created this book in my final semester at Millersville University. The project was to create a fictional exhibit for the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum and design an accompanying book. “Press Start” is an exhibit which shows the evolution of video game controllers through time.

This project was to create a magazine on a subject of our choice. I set out to create a magazine about cats that was sophisticated enough to cater to a more modern audience.

This is a competition packet for a high school physics olympics I designed for my senior portfolio class at Millersville University. Included in the folder is a rulebook, competition itineraries, a campus map, meal tickets and name tags. The rulebook is fully designed with the different competition experiments explained along with the rules for each. I also designed a banner for the Student Memorial Center, and a t-shirt for competition participants. This packet was based off of my previous advanced typography project, “Difference,” which took three different typefaces and overlapped them in red, green, and blue to create a very distinct look.

For this project, we were asked to research a contemporary designer of our choice and create a multi-page book design based on their work. I chose Bruce Mau for his work at the Seattle Public Library - I have a soft spot for oversized typography (just looked up his website just now, I see they’ve done an amazing re-design of the site). I latched onto his “Incomplete Manifesto” of 43 beliefs, ideas, and strategies to improve your design. The book is an illustration of those 43 statements using his work and my own photography.
