In my Advanced Typography class at Millersville University, this was one of my favorite assignments. We were tasked to create ten different typefaces using non-traditional materials and methods.
“Difference” is very similar to “Exclusion.” It was created in Photoshop using three different serif typefaces, each colored either Red, Blue or Green. When the three different characters were overlapped and their layers were set to “exclusion” against a white background, any place all three overlapped turned black. Where two or just one were present, different colors popped up.
